HOT CONCRETE

This technique accelerates cement hydration by preheating the concrete by the means of direct steam injection inside the mixer.

Steam is used to heat up the batch. Latent heat is released in a short period of time during the condensation process, which takes place within the mix

The major benefits for using hot concrete are listed below:

  • Uniform starting temperature after pouring (VERY IMPORTANT) to reduce internal stresses.
  • Stripping time reduced
  • Required strength for detensioning prestressed elements reduced and further handling
  • It can be coupled with other heat treatment processes to further cut cycle duration.
  • Applicable to any type of mixer (turbo, planetary, twin shaft)
